On February 2, the 11th China Round table on WTO accession and the High-level Forum on 10 Years of Lao PDR's Membership in the WTO took place in Vientiane, Lao PDR. Li Fei, Assistant Minister of Commerce delivered a video speech.
The China's Least-Developed Countries (LDCs) and Accessions Programme (the‘China Program’) was established in 2011. The first Round Table, which is important part of the China Program, was held in 2012. Themed in the celebration of Lao PDR's 10-year WTO membership anniversary, the 11th China Round Table reviewed the experiences and outcomes of Members from the Asia-Pacific region and looked into the prospects of LDCs' accession to the WTO. Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lao People's Democratic Republic, WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and WTO Deputy Director-General Zhang Xiangchen attended the meeting. Ambassador Li Chenggang, Chinese Permanent Representative to WTO, attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech.
